Our Team

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of dedicated experience in the field of mental health counseling. My educational journey began with earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, followed by obtaining my Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University. Throughout my professional career, I have worked in a variety of settings and have had the privilege of serving diverse populations across all age groups. A significant portion of my career has been spent within non-profit organizations, including community mental health services, residential treatment facilities, and domestic violence support agencies. I have a genuine passion for mental health counseling, particularly when it comes to supporting vulnerable populations in need of assistance.

My expertise allows me to treat a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, PTSD, and ADHD. I possess extensive experience in areas such as crisis intervention, domestic violence counseling, grief and loss support, medical trauma, and navigating various life transitions. My approach to therapy is rooted in a person-centered philosophy that emphasizes collaboration, ensuring we work together closely to achieve your personal treatment goals.

My ultimate aim is to create a welcoming environment where you feel safe, accepted, understood, valued, and respected at every turn. I utilize trauma-informed and holistic practices that take into consideration your physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being, allowing for a comprehensive healing experience. When I am not working with my clients, I cherish the moments I spend with my husband, children, and extended family. I find joy in outdoor activities at the lake, as well as expressing my creativity through the delightful art of decorating sugar cookies. Some of the treatment models I utilize include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, Play Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

Trevor Kramer,

MSW Intern

I am currently completing my training as a Social Worker, specializing in providing compassionate, client-centered care. As an intern therapist, I work with a diverse range of clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional dysregulation, and relationship issues. I strive to create a safe and empathetic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their emotions and experiences.

My therapeutic approach is tailored to meet each client's unique needs. I utilize evidence-based interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while maintaining a client-centered and strengths-based framework. I believe in fostering a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients are active participants in their healing process. This allows for greater self-awareness, personal growth, and the development of practical tools to manage life's challenges.

In addition to my academic background in social work, I have experience working with individuals who have a history of trauma and complex emotional needs. My focus includes helping clients build resilience and develop healthy coping mechanisms. I am particularly interested in supporting clients with identity, self-esteem, and emotional regulation issues, drawing from approaches that integrate mindfulness and experiential learning.

I am committed to professional growth and receive regular supervision from licensed clinicians, ensuring my clients receive high-quality care. My goal is to help clients manage their immediate concerns and cultivate long-term well-being and personal fulfillment.

As I continue to develop my therapeutic skills, I look forward to making a meaningful impact on my clients' lives, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve positive, lasting change
